Demon Slayer: To The Swordsmith Village Movie |
Its been almost a year since the second season of Demon Slayer was aired but we already got the news of next season recently. So in a attempt to promote the season the world tour screenings have started of Demon Slayer to the Swordsmith Village.
Despite creators attempts to make it clear that this was meant to be a season premier and nothing more, fans high expectations of the new movie left them disappointed as it was mostly the recap of the last season and poorly edited altogether. Yes, that is true but the new episode and excellent CGI animation blows every other anime out and makes up for the recap.

Tanjiro finds himself face-to-face with a strong upper rank demon, Gyutaro, and it is his goal to defeat him with all of his comrades. Upon getting stabbed under his chin, he barely manages to slice his head off at the same time Zenitsu slices Daki. Because of his upper moon defeat, demon leader Muzan assembles the rest of upper moons in the infinity castle to discuss the situation. Afterwards, there was flashback regarding the mysterious Tanjiro like swordsman that Muzan fears. Tanjiro then wakes up from a 2-month long coma, and seemed to have that flashback during that time frame. To end off the movie, Tanjiro meets the new Hashira that are introduced, Mitsuri Kanroji, the love Hashira and Muichiro Tokito, the mist Hashira.
REVIEW
Despite creators attempts to make it clear that this was meant to be a season premier and nothing more, expectations of viewers to watch something new made it a not so great experience. But the hallmark animation and CGI of Demon Slayer doesn't seem to disappoint anyone. The final fight featuring Tanjiro and his comrades vs upper rank demon Gyutaro and Daki was worth watching on the big screen.
With that being said, it provides the fans and viewers an opportunity to watch the epic finale episodes of the Entertainment District on the big screen, while also getting a first inside look at the other upper ranks and the Swordsmith Village Arc. It's not all "new" content like how Mugen Train was a brand new movie that no one has seen, and it tells you that beforehand. That's the way I see it.
As a fan myself, I still think it's awesome to see. I am not going to complain about watching Demon Slayers in theaters. It's still the same top-tier animation, epic fighting sequences, and characters that we couldn't get more of, but displayed on a big screen!
